On September 2, Ni Zhen, General Manager of CEEC, met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The two sides held in-depth discussions on aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with Kazakhstan’s new economic policy and on systematically advancing practical cooperation in areas such as energy and power planning, renewable energy development, power grid interconnection, energy storage technology, hydrogen energy industry, waste-to-energy, and green data centers. They agreed to create more benchmark Belt and Road projects and add fresh impetus to the China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future.
During the meeting, CEEC and the Kazakh side signed a package of cooperation agreements covering renewable energy and other fields.
Among other attendees were Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, and Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund.
