On January 13, China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd. won the bid for the Poiga 2 Hydropower Station in Indonesia.
Situated in South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, the project is one of the critical renewable energy projects in Sulawesi Island and mainly involves the construction of 2 units of 15 MW hydropower turbines, diversion tunnels, semi-embedded penstocks, switchyards, as well as power transmission and distribution lines. Covering the entire process from engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning, the project will effectively enhance the local renewable energy supply capacity, drive the optimization of the country’s energy mix, and boost sustainable socio-economic development in the region.
