On May 14, the 2026 China-Central Asia Human Rights Development Forum kicked off in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The forum was co-hosted by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development and the National Human Rights Center of Uzbekistan. CEEC is the only China-invested enterprise invited to participate in the forum.

Initiated by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development in 2023, the forum has witnessed four successful sessions to date. Themed “Promoting Human Rights Progress through High-Quality Development,” this year’s forum saw the release of the Tashkent Initiative of the China-Central Asia Human Rights Development Forum, building broad consensus on deepening human rights exchanges and cooperation, jointly advancing people’s livelihoods, and fostering a regional community with a shared future between China and Central Asian countries.
At the parallel forum on “Working Together to Leverage Digital and Smart Technologies for Human Rights Development,” representatives of CEEC shared in a multi-dimensional way China’s innovative achievements and proven practices in harnessing such technologies to empower regional human rights progress, by drawing on CEEC’s deep-rooted operations in Uzbekistan and key local projects as concrete examples. Going forward, CEEC will continue to deepen practical cooperation with Central Asian countries—empowering livelihood with technology, safeguarding human rights through development, and keeping people at the heart of technological progress—as it works alongside all partners to upgrade human rights development across the region and write a new chapter in building a community with a shared future for humanity.
