Song Hailiang Visits Colombian President Gustavo Petro

On May 15, Song Hailiang, Chairman of CEEC, met with Colombian President Gustavo Petro during his state visit to China. The two sides held in-depth discussions on actively implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum. They further exchanged views on deepening practical cooperation in areas such as seawater desalination, water conservancy, renewable energy, energy storage, power grid interconnectivity, integrated energy-transport solutions, and digital-energy integration by leveraging Colombia’s recent accession to the Belt and Road Initiative. The two sides agreed to expedite the implementation of cooperative projects to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Among other attendees were Germán Ávila, Minister of Finance and Public Credit of Colombia; Martha Viviana CARVAJALINO Villegas, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Colombia; Edwin Palma, Minister of Mines and Energy of Colombia; Lusink, Acting Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Colombia; ‌María Fernanda Rojas‌, Minister of Transportation of Colombia; ‌Yesenia Olaya, Minister of Science and Technology of Colombia; ‌Sergio Cabrera‌, Colombian Ambassador to China; and principals of relevant departments and units of CEEC.
